My name is Courtney White and I have been teaching first and/or second grade for 8 years! I am so thrilled to be a part of your child's life this year and I promise to do everything possible to make first grade a successful and fun year!
I believe that all students can learn with encouragement, high expectations, love and perseverance. In our classroom every child is an integral member with so much to offer. We believe that mistakes open the door to new learning and that taking a risk is MUCH more important than being correct. We change our mind and our thinking. We can laugh with each other and even at ourselves! My whole teaching philosophy can be summed up in these three ideas:
be real, be reasonable, and be kind
- I am originally from southern Vermont and moved to the Burlington area when I started college at UVM.
- I live in Essex with my husband Cole, kitty Bandit and dog Ollie and now our new baby girl Lulu!
- I love to read, hike, ski, garden, swim and spend time with my family --especially my nephews Griffin and Graeme!
