Math Workshop Centers

Today we began our Math Workshop Centers! Just like the Readers and Writers Workshops in our class, during Math Workshop we begin with a mini-lesson, and then move on to independent practice, partner or small group practice or meet with the teacher.

Mrs. Sheppard and I were both blown away by how fantastic the kiddos did! The room was calm, there were math conversations happening, everyone was engaged in learning and best of all kids were problem solvers! We've been working very hard on trying to solve problems on our own, without interrupting the teacher, so that when I get to work with a small group all of my focus and attention can be on that group. Today was proof that all of our hard work over the past few weeks of school is paying off!
