Todayduring math we tried to figure out if our body was a square or a rectangle! First we measured yarn and cut it to match the length of our wingspan. Next, we cut the yarn to the length of our body from head to toe.

After we cut the yarn we chose a unit to measure the string with. Some kids chose cubes, others chose Popsicle sticks, inch tiles or rulers!

We ended our investigation with an amazing discussion about measurement. Kids talked about how important it is to be precise so that the measurements are accurate. We also discovered that when both of your body measurements were equal your body was a "square" no matter how many units! Wow!
